* Charming, comfortable guest rooms (with private baths) that sleep 2-3

Some Important Details
* The retreat is from 4p Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.
* If you are flying in, we suggest arriving Saturday morning no later than 12p and scheduling a flight to leave around the same time on Monday morning.
* The closest airport is DFW. Love Field is also an option, but you would need to add about 45 minutes to travel time either way.
* You will need to arrange for transportation to and from the retreat. We would be happy to put you in touch with others who are attending so you can possibly ride share.

Yoga Props
The minimum of yoga gear will need to be provided for the weekend. This includes 1 mat, 1 yoga belt, and 3 blankets. If you have a block, please bring that as well. We can provide these things but you will need to let us know in advance.

About the Retreat Center
The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch, overlooking the Brazos (de Dios) River and Palo Pinto Mountains, in Mineral Wells, is one of the most breathtaking spots in Texas. Other Texas ranches cultivate livestock; The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch cultivates minds and bodies with music, art, storytelling, and well-being.

Walking into the Hacienda feels like a stop on a cattle drive in a mid-century Western movie. In the 1940..s the Seybold Guest Ranch operated as a dude ranch. Charles Dilbeck, a popular albeit eccentric Dallas architect, designed the guest ranch. Elmer Seybold, a nationally known sharp shooter and his wife Dorothy, an international fashion model hosted presidents and entertainers. Stories of the Reagans, Bette Davis, and John Wayne among others abound. Best-selling author John Graves, notes the ..dude ranch.. in his classic novel ..Goodbye to a River...

The old Guest Ranch has been rejuvenated into creative and inspirational retreat center and art ranch. The Double J Hacienda & Art Ranch provides a peaceful atmosphere to experience healthy living and enjoy music, art, and storytelling.

About Steve
He trick-or-treated at Liberace..s house, planned a two-day stay in Amsterdam that ended a month later with him escaping the city under the cover of darkness, and was Bob Hope..s favorite altar boy. Alone, these anecdotes go well with a fistful of peanuts at a cocktail party. But on top of these add that this person also co-wrote the longest-running song on the Billboard Top 100, had a debut solo album that earned three and a half stars in Rolling Stone, and was awarded the title of ..San Diego..s Most Influential Artist of the Decade.. at the San Diego Music Awards. What you end up with is one of the most engaging, twisted, and prolific songwriters of our time - Steve Poltz.

About Ally
Ally began her yoga practice during a particularly hectic semester as a biochemistry and physics student at the University of North Texas in 1991. Since the moment she walked in to her first Iyengar yoga class, she has been a dedicated practitioner. 2 years later she began teaching. Since then, she has traveled extensively, all over the world, attended dozens of workshops and teacher trainings with the most respected top level Iyengar instructors in the world. She currently resides and teaches in Dallas at her place, Bend Studio.

"My yoga details aren't really as important as what the idea of yoga means to me personally. The main thing I can claim is dedication to and application of yoga under both favorable and unfavorable circumstances. That is because I truly believe that yoga is more than just some physical and breathing exercises; it is a spiritual path, offering immeasurable assistance on the road leading to self-realization. Though by no means always an easy one, that is the road I am on. Yoga has completely changed my life, in all possible ways. It serves me now at this very minute, and at every moment more. Like true love, it gives unconditionally, expecting nothing in return."
