Our Beginner Series are not for everyone. The poses,
or asanas, are sometimes intense and vigorous. We will not
just be sitting around meditating and doing breathing exercises.
There may be a more appropriate class for you if you are suffering
from certain conditions. Those who have had recent surgeries
or injuries, who are pregnant for the first time, or who are
suffering from chronic or severe illness, injuries, or conditions,
please consult with us and your doctor before registering
for this course.

iyengar yoga instruction
Iyengar Yoga is the absolute best style of yoga for
the beginning student. It breaks the poses down into easy,
accessible parts, and opens the body, preparing you for ongoing
classes and a continuing yoga practice. Yoga is ideally suited
to prevent physical and mental illness and to protect the
body in general... By it's very nature it is inextricably
associated with universal laws: for respect for life, truth,
and patience are all indispensable factors in the drawing
of a quiet breath, in calmness of mind and firmness of will....
what
do i need to bring?
The only thing you will need to bring is yourself
and your interest in Yoga... We do highly recommend that you
have your own mat. We sell those here at the studio, but you
are also welcome to use the studios mats if you choose not
to purchase one... Bottled water is available for purchase,
but you are welcome to bring in your own...
what
should i wear?
Comfortable, but not overly baggy, clothing. Ladies,
try the Gap, Whole Earth Provision, Elements, or Cotton Island.
Online, try LuLuLemon, Living Arts, or Hugger Mugger... Men,
try the Gap, Oshman's, Living Arts, or Hugger Mugger. Or you
are welcome to just wear that old comfortable pair of shorts
and t-shirt.
what
if i have to miss a class?
We have 4-5 Beginner Series running on our schedule at any
given time. You are welcome to drop in to another class and
make up one that you are having to miss for free as long as
it is in the time frame of your series.

tips
Arrive 5-10 minutes early to class (the studio is
open 10 minutes before and after each scheduled class)
If you do arrive late, please wait until our initial
seated posture is completed to enter.
Do not eat 2 hours before class
Alert instructor to any injuries, chronic illnesses, or pregnancies
before class begins
We HIGHLY recommend that you purchase your own yoga mat
Turn all pagers and cell phones off BEFORE entering the studio
- please do not talk on your cell phone inside the studio.
Enter studio quietly
Do not wear strong fragrances to class
Remove shoes at the front door
